Registration

  • What is the deadline for pass transfers?  January 14, 2020.
  • An unexpected circumstance is now preventing me from attending the event. What should I do?  Email us at info@hotrhythmholiday.com. These requests will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. We cannot guarantee an ideal outcome. If you notify us the week of or during the event, expect a delayed response.
  • Can I upgrade my pass?  Yes. Email us at info@hotrhythmholiday.com with the titles of your original pass and your desired upgrade. We'll update your registration, and you will pay the difference between the two. Downgrading passes is not an option.
  • Will a la carte options be available?  Yes. See our Pricing page for a cost breakdown.
  • Can I update my registration?  Yes. You can use your registration link to revisit your registration.
  • I did not receive my confirmation email and registration link. What should I do?  First, check your spam filter. Failing that, email us at info@hotrhythmholiday.com.
  • How do I register for classes in Lindy Hop?  A full-weekend pass grants access to all Lindy Hop classes. Leveling for Lindy Hop classes is done via the honor system. As such, please be honest with yourself about your abilities for the benefit of your fellow dancers.
  • I want to update my registration, but can't edit the data I want to. What do I do? Email us at info@hotrhythmholiday.com with the new data you want.

Dance Classes

  • How do I schedule a private lesson?  Contact the instructor(s) you want a private lesson with directly. Most can be contacted via Facebook. If Facebook is not an option for you, email us at info@hotrhythmholiday.com. We will post email addresses on the Instructors page soon.
  • Are the Friday elective classes available to Prep Course students?  No. Only full-weekend pass-holders may take elective classes. Prep Course students are locked into the dance track they registered for. Prep Course students may attend the evening and late night dances.
  • Can I take both Prep Courses?  No. Attendees may only register for one Prep Course. Classes are progressive and we recommend students stick with one dance and attend all classes throughout the weekend.
  • Can I take Prep Course classes with a full-weekend pass.  Yes. Full-weekend pass-holders may take , or test for, any level of class. See our Dance Classes page for details on additional prerequisites for Junior, Senior, and Graduate School classes.
  • When will Graduate School applications open?  October 13th, 2019
  • I applied to Graduate School, but was not accepted. Do I still need to attend the level check class for the dance I applied in?  Yes.
  • I was accepted to the Graduate Track last year, do I need to reapply this year? Yes.
  • Where do I send my Graduate Track application? The link to our application form is on the Apply to the Graduate Track page. Please do not email applications to us, as they may get buried in our inboxes.
  • Will I hear back regarding the status of my Graduate Track application? Yes, we will not ghost anyone. Truth is that sometimes we get busy, and things fall by the wayside to make room for higher-priority work. Even if the response is late, you will get one.

Competitions

  • Can I enter the Advanced (e.g. Balboa) Mix & Match in my primary role and the Amateur in my secondary role?  Yes. So long as you are competing in different roles for Amateur and Advanced Mix & Matches for a particular dance, this is perfectly fine. As a friendly heads-up: We will be monitoring competition registrations to enforce our competition policies.
  • Are strictly competitions paid for by both partners or just one?  Just one. If you want to split the cost with your partner, you two will need to handle that privately.
  • Can my non-dancer relative/friend watch me compete or perform?  Email us at info@hotrhythmholiday.com.
  • Should I do the Amateur or Advanced Mix & Match in my dance(s) of choice? Please consult our Competitions page for details on each level.
  • I made finals in an Amateur Mix & Match last year, but didn't place. Should I do Amateur or Advanced this year?  Ultimately, it's up to you. Consider how much your dancing has changed in a year's time. If your dancing has noticeably improved from last year, Advanced will be a better challenge. If you're rusty, we suggest sticking with Amateur.

General

  • How can I find housing?  Check out our Travel Info page for housing suggestions. For figuring out roommate situations, check out this Facebook event.
  • When is the schedule coming out?  As soon as we can get it out.
  • Will there be vendors this year?  Yes. Stay tuned for vendor announcements.
